looking back a year is
a bit like remembering people you went to school with.
Some have slipped away, and vanished without a trace.
We miss you, and hope you are busy with good things.

1 And now for something completely different – 'Mrs Flowers'
of The Wind and the Wellies on a peedie rocks-in-your-pockets
windy Orcadian island. Gardening against the elements.
2 Gail at Clay and Limestone for Wildflower Wednesdays.
Hands across the sea, the Atlantic Ocean, gardening for wildlife.
Woulda-coulda-shoulda in the garden
3 Stacy at Microcosm in the Q where we share a similar climate,
delighting in rain in New Mexico and petrichor.
Hoodoos-and-goblins. Revelling in words that grow in our garden.

But we still revel in bees painted in their own particular home,
the right plant, the appropriate behaviour.

5 Laura Patiopatch in London has lost her garden gone-gardening,
but gained opportunities. Vigorous, window on the world, writing.
6 MuddyBootDreams Jen’s dream has come true.
She, Gar and Bootsie the cat have moved north to snowy Okanagan.
7 Gina Ferrari at Fan My Flame – had an especially busy year
Then embroidered into a spellbinding story, with a twist in the tale,
but the 'battle' has been won.

Just in case this
is new to you – the 12
Days OF Christmas. Sung
here by the Muppets. Or
Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters.
I invite you to join me. My theme is simply to play with the
numbers from one to twelve. Just one day or as many as you like. You are
welcome to (write a new post or) trawl your archives for that post YOU love,
that never got the exposure it deserved. A photo, WITH title/caption/words. Or
only words for a change? You are also welcome to come back some time in the
future and join in.
If I asked you for the ten blogs
you read, enjoyed, looked out for in 2011? Some old, familiar and comfortable. Some
new, fresh and different. Not just a comment, but a link to a post …

From BushBernie who is in Australia's dry tropics, so her garden birds are, lorikeets!

I'd have a difficult time choosing just 10 posts with over a hundred blogs on my list. I can't even keep up reading every post that gets published. I think I will content myself with your 12 days of Christmas for now.
ReplyDeleteBom - 225 in my Reader!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Born, too much to choose from! It is refreshing to read posts from all over the world and to get other gardeners' perspectives, to read of their hopes, triumphs, and disappointments, and to see their beautiful gardens! Like you, I really miss them when my favorites drift away.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana - Wow!! What can I say but I am so excited and feel VERY honoured to have made it onto your list and with my personal favourite post of the year! How did you know? I'm so in love with the Ixias I'm already planning my spring garden for 2012 around them - and I "infected" Barbie too - she also eventually planted and loved her Ixias! But all credit to you - you influenced me to plant more natives, and I'm loving it. Thank you Diana!
ReplyDeleteWonderful blogs and posts Diana!!
ReplyDeleteHow nice of you! Some of these I have not read, so I look forward to exploring some new blogs.
ReplyDeleteLots of fabulous blogs listed there. I follow quite a few of them, but you've also introduced some new ones for me to check out.
ReplyDeleteHere's the link to my Tenth Day post, featuring two beautiful Lorikeets that visit my place regularly:
