I thought I responded to this post. My mother was also a myope. I am of the opinion that it is hereditary, since the children of my well-sighted husband are near-sighted like me, but outdoorsy like him.
Nell Jean - it was an interesting piece of research. I grew up loving reading, so more indoors. Now I am old and wise? I spend more time in my garden.
